What is Pilates?

Thanks to the pioneering work of Joseph Pilates, this uniquely intelligen movement, called Pilates was born. Developed around the principles of stability, movement, control, strength and streching, Pilates creates a balanced body - available for everybody.

Gentle on the joints yet effectively strengthening and toning the muscles, Pilates really is for everyone. It helps to prevent injuries or helps during the recovery from one. Beloved by professional athletes and dancers, Pilates is getting more popular among the larger population as well.

Principles of Pilates

Developed with stable principles, Pilates also incorporates a very important element, which is BREATHING. It seems a lot to keep in mind, but this is why Pilates is so transformative, it traines not just the body, but the mind and soul as well.

Pilates Etiquette

  • No need to wear shoes, we move in socks

  • Wear comfortable, semi-tight clothes. The instructor needs to see your body move, please no baggy clothes

  • Let the instructor know about previous injuries & special requirements, and circumstances (eg. pregnancy)

Studio Policies

  • No phones during class

  • Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to class

  • Please remember to cancel at least 6 hours before class. No show fees apply!
